On April 5,
2008 the Pirandello Lyceum held its 23nd Annual Awards Banquet,
"I Migliori in Mens et Gesta" (The Best in Mind
and Deeds) at the Hilton Boston Logan Airport. This year seven
proud Italian-Americans were honored for their outstanding achievements
in their field of work and for their contributions to society.
The honorees were: Mr. Arthur D'Angelo, Twins Enterprise; Lou
Imbriano, President/CEO TrinityOne Inc; Dr. Maria Lombardo, Spotlight
Project Coordinator, UMASS Boston; Vincent Rumasuglia, MA State
Deputy/Knights of Columbus; Dr. Jo-Ann Testaverde, Asst. Dean
of the School of Education, Cambridge College; and the President's
award Dr. Carlo Cipollone, Educational Director-Office of Consulate
General of Italy.
Joe Sciacca,
Deputy Managing Editor, Boston Herald, did a most memorable
job as Toastmaster for the evening, while the many guests, including
presidents of various associations, and past honorees created
a very warm reception for the 2008 "I Migliori"
Award Recipients. The Honorable Bishop Robert Hennessey gave the
beautiful invocation.
The mission
of the Pirandello Lyceum is to promote the appreciation and study
of the Italian language and culture.
