Professor Filippo Cordaro, scholar, writer and researcher, founder of the Pirandello Lyceum in 1985, had a clear vision of the Pirandello Lyceum as an institution which would lead in establishing symposia which would invite scholars from all over the world to discuss their research on Italian studies. The proceedings of these meetings would be published by the Pirandello Press which he also discovered. In 1987, Dr. Cordaro organized the first such symposium, The American Constitution: Symbol and Reality for Italy, which met at Harvard University. The subject was the US Constitution and the direct and indirect contributions of Italian thinkers on the creation of this great American document. This was the beginning of many such scholarly meetings of researchers, writers and scholars as seen below:
